From 2002 to 2003 Maulana Azad Education Foundation started a scholarship scheme for multiple meritorious students called Maulana Azad Scholarship. This scholarship offers financial assistance every year for deserving students to cover their educational expenses. This year also the Maulana Azad Education Foundation introduced the Maulana Azad Scholarship 2024. The scholarship will provide scholarships to the students of class 9th to 12th who belong to minority communities and have a family income of less than Rs. 2,50,000 lakh per annum.

About Maulana Azad Scholarship

The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India has started Maulana Azad Education Foundation to offer scholarships for minority students called Maulana Azad Scholarship 2024. Under this scholarship students from Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains community will be eligible. Students from class 9th to 10th will receive INR 5,000 per annum and students from class 11th to 12th  will get INR 6,000 per annum. The last date for registration under the Maulana Azad Scholarship 2023 is on the 15th of December 2023.

Students must score 50% or more marks from class 9th to above. Students who clear JRF will get Rs. 25,000 per month for 2 years and those who clear SRF will get Rs. 28,000 per month.

Objective of Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship

Maulana Azad Scholarship was started in honour of  Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. The main motive of this scholarship is to promote the importance of education in the minority community. As many families cannot afford the expensive fees of schools. To help such students the foundation started the scholarship through which students will get a financial amount to pay their school fees from class 9th to 12th.

Maulana Azad Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must be a permanent resident of India.
  • Students should belong to minority communities such as: Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains.
  • Applicants who enroll under class 9th to 12th standard will be eligible for the scholarship.
  • Students must score 50% or above marks in their academics.
  • The applicant must be enrolled full-time in a regular M.Phil. or PhD program at a university or other academic institution.
  • The scholarship will provide scholarships to the students of class 9th to 12th who belong to minority communities and have a family income of less than Rs. 2,50,000 lakh per annum.
  • Transgender communities are also eligible for this scholarship.
