Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya 2024: Do Registration before Last Date

A very new scholarship scheme has been implemented by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, for the Scheduled Tribe students called Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya 2023. This Umbrella Scholarship for Post Matric and Pre Matric ST Students will offer financial assistance to eligible students from the ST community to financially support in their education. Through the Umbrella Scholarship ST, Students from all the pre-matric or post-matric courses will be eligible to avail of the scholarship benefits.

The student must be a permanent resident of Meghalaya. The scholarship amount will be given to the students based on their pursuing courses. Importance of Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya

The Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya is an initiative for the betterment of the Students of Meghalaya to offer them financial assistance to cover their educational expenses. Many students wanted to complete their studies but due to financial crises, they dropped out. The annual family income of the candidate should not be more than Rs. 2 lakh from all sources. Candidates from Scheduled Tribes who have passed the higher secondary, matriculation or any other exam-recognized university or board of secondary education can apply for an Umbrella Scholarship.

• Candidates can use scholarship amounts for study purposes which include, educational tours, thesis writing, hostel accommodation, and many more. Students who have received financial support from the government will get it only if they study in their state.

The objective of Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya

The main aim of Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya is to financially support Scheduled Tribe students to continue their studies without the financial burden. Many students are focused on their life goals but the expenses of classes are not affordable for every individual. The selected students who are interested in higher education will be offered an amount of financial assistance. Through financial assistance students will freely pay their educational expenses without the financial burden. Eligibility Criteria

• Students must be a permanent resident of Meghalaya.
• The student should enroll in pre-matric or Post-matric courses in Government or Government aided schools or institutes.
• The candidate belongs to the Scheduled Tribe community.
• The annual family income of the candidate should not be more than Rs. 2 lakh from all sources.
• Students should not get a scholarship amount from any other centrally funded organization.

Benefits of Umbrella Scholarship Meghalaya

• The Umbrella Scholarship has been implemented in Meghalaya to offer financial assistance to eligible candidates.
• The scholarship scheme is introduced for pre-matric and post-matric students.
• Selected students will get financial help in the following manner: Fees for enrolment/registration, tuition, games, union, library, magazine, medical examination, and other fees.
• Students will get Financial assistance of Rs. 16,00 per annum as an Educational tour.
• Research scholars will receive Rs. 16,00 for thesis writing and printing.
• Selected students will get an annual allowance of 1,200 for essential/prescribed books, besides reimbursement of course fees to correspondence course students.
