Central Sector Scheme for National Overseas

Central Sector Scheme for National Overseas scholarship is for the students who belong to the OBC Community and are enrolled in Professional courses like Masters and Ph.D. from foreign universities. Under this scholarship, 30% of girls and 25% of boys are eligible to receive the benefits based on the course they are enrolled in. The students from the following streams are eligible for scholarships: Engineering, Management, Agricultural Science, and Medicine.Ph.D. students get scholarships for 4 years and Master’s students will get benefits for 3 years. Along with this other benefits will also be received by the selected students.

Merit Scholarship For OBC Students

Under Merit Scholarship For OBC Students, candidates who are in class 6th to 12 and those who are in professional courses are eligible for merit-based scholarships from the Delhi Department of the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities. The maximum allowance of INR 1,620 per month will be given to the technical students and INR 4,500 per year for all other OBC students. There are three categories for the scholarship: pre-matric, post-matric, and merit cum means.

National fellowship for OBC

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India has started a National fellowship for OBC students so that they will avail the benefit of financial assistance to cover their educational expenses. Students get enrolled in professional courses like:  M.Phil. and Ph.D. The UGC will offer 300 scholarships for JRF and SRF. Students who are physically disabled and belong to the OBC Community will get the scholarship along with this they will also get HRA, Medical expenses, and other benefits.

ONGC Scholarship

OBC and economically disadvantaged students who are in their first year of graduation or post-graduate course, will get a monthly maintenance payment of INR 4,000 as financial help. This scholarship has been created by the Oil and Gas Corporate Limited (ONGC). They introduced around 1000 scholarships for OBC students.

Post-matric Scholarship

Post Matric Scholarship is a scholarship that is introduced by various state governments or central governments for students who passed class 10th standard to 12th and from undergraduate to postgraduate level. Under this scholarship students will get Non-refundable fees for tuition, gaming, union, library, and other fees as well as study tour and thesis type costs are reimbursed to the scholars. This scholarship has cost the government approximately INR 720 crores.

Pre Matric Scholarship

Pre-matric scholarship is a broad category of scholarship that is introduced by various state governments or central governments for the students who are enrolled in class 1st to 10th standard. A monthly stipend of up to INR 500 is given to the students each year. Only institutions recognized by State Governments or Union Territory administrations are eligible to receive the scholarship.
