Recently the Government of Maharashtra launched the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj scholarship. Through this scheme, scholarship is provided to students who are currently studying in class 12th or have passed their board examination. Only those students who belong to the Maratha community will be able to benefit from this scheme. Now with the implementation of this scheme students are not required to depend on others in order to finance their education. Importance of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship

The Government of Maharashtra has launched the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj scholarship scheme. Through this scheme, scholarships will be provided to VJNT and SBC categories. So that they can continue their education without facing any financial hurdles. Through this scholarship, the government is going to provide a scholarship of Rs 300 per month for 10 months. So that they can finance their education. Now students will not be dependent on anyone for financing their education. Higher education will also be promoted through this scheme. Students belonging to Vimukta jati, the Nomadic tribe, and special backward classes will be able to benefit of this scheme.

However, it is mandatory to secure at least 75% and above marks in the class 10th examination to get the benefit of this scheme. The government is going to benefit more than 500000 students every year through this scholarship scheme. Through the implementation of this scheme, the dropout rate will be reduced. Other than that the literacy rate in the state will also be improved.

Shahu Maharaj Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant should be a permanent resident of Maharashtra or should belong to the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka
• Applicant must be currently in class 12th or pass the board examination
• Applicant should belong to the minority community
• The applicant should be pursuing a professional or non-professional course that should be approved by a government or non-government institution
• The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs 8 lakh
• Applicant should be admitted to the course through the general quota
• Those students person part-time or distance learning are not eligible to take benefit of this scheme

Benefits Under Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship

• Through this scheme, 100% of tuition fees and exam fees will be waived off
• The government is going to cover 605 courses through this scheme
• More than 5 lac students will be benefited
• Those students whose annual family income is under 250000 will get a 100% waiver in tuition fees(for government institutes)
• Students whose annual family income is between Rs 250000 to Rs 800000 will get a 50% waiver in tuition fees(for partially aided or unaided or permanently unaided colleges)
• Candidates whose annual family income is between rupees 250000 800000 and is pursuing courses in government institutions will be provided a 50% tuition fees waiver
• The students who are pursuing professional courses in partially added or an added or permanent unaided colleges and have annual family income between rupees 250000 and rupees 800000 will get a 50% waiver in tuition fees
• The students who are person non-professional courses in the government edit or non-government aided financial institution and have an annual family income limit under rupees 800000 will get a 100% tuition fees waiver
• Other than that students will also get education expense of rupees 5000
