Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship 2024: Fill Application Form before Last Date

The Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat, Meghala has informed that the Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship 2023 exam will be conducted by the Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Meghalaya, Shillong on the 4th November 2023. The Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship 2024 will be conducted for the students from class 8th pass to 12th standard. The selected students will get financial assistance of Rs. 500/- per month till they reach the 12th standard. The annual income of the candidate’s family should be equal to or less than Rs. 1,50,000. Students must score a minimum 55% marks in 7th standard to be eligible for the Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship 2024.

The Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship Exam will be conducted in 2 modes. The first paper will contain questions from the Mental Ability Test and the second paper will be from the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Students from Meghalaya who want to apply for the scholarship must fill out the application form before the last date.

The objective of Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship 2024

The main aim of the Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship 2024 is to make all the financially weak students educated the same as the financially privileged students. With the rising amount of school fees, many students are not able to pay it, as they are about to drop out of school. Through this Meghalaya NMMS Scholarship, 2024 students will easily pay their school fees. The selected students will receive Rs. 500 every month from the 8th class to the 12th class. Many students are very motivated towards their studies but the high rising amount of school fees cannot be affordable by economically disadvantaged students.

National Means Cum Merit Scholarship

The NMMS Scholarship 2024 has been introduced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s Department of School Education and Literacy. The National Merit cum Means Scholarship is a great financial support for those students who are not financially strong but have faith to be educated person to fulfill all their dreams and desires. NMMS Scholarship will offer Rs. 12,000 to the students who pass class 7th from any government or government-aided school except students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, non-government schools, and residential schools are not eligible.

Selection Process

• Every year in the month of November, DERT administers the exam through SDSEOs in each district headquarters to pick the students.
• In the months of December and January, the outcome is announced. The MHRD will receive the names of the candidates who qualified for this examination in order to offer scholarships.
• Reservations: 15% for students who fall under the SC category, 7.5% for students who fall under the ST category, and 3% for students who are physically challenged.
• Candidates from the general category must receive 40% on each exam, while those from the SC, ST, and PH categories must receive 32% on each exam.
