About the National Scholarship Portal

The National Scholarship Portal was started under the mission of the National eGovernance Plan. The Pre-Matric Scholarship is introduced for the students of Manipur who belong to Scheduled Caste and are currently enrolled in class 9th or 10th standard. The motive of this scholarship is to encourage talented students to complete their secondary education which plays an important role in students’ lives. The selected candidates will get a definite amount of financial assistance for 10 months. This scholarship amount will be transferred into their bank account. Along with the scholarship for education students will get another allowance if they are physically disabled. This Pre-Matric Scholarship is only for the ST Students who are in Government/Government aided/ State/ Board of Secondary Schools.

Eligibility Criteria

• Students must be a permanent resident of Manipur.
• Students’ family annual income should not be more than Rs. 2 lakh.
• The students who belong to the ST Community.
• Students must be enrolled in class 9th or 10th standard.
• Students who are in Government/Government aided/ State/ Board of Secondary Schools are eligible.

Post Matric Scholarship for ST students-Manipur

The Post-Matric Scholarship is introduced for the students of Manipur who belong to Scheduled Caste and are currently enrolled in class 11th, 12th standard or in Graduation, Post Graduation or Phd level. The motive of this scholarship is to encourage talented students to complete their education which plays an important role in students’ lives. The selected candidates will get a definite amount of financial assistance. This scholarship amount will be transferred into their bank account. Students will also get assistance for their study tour or Thesis Typing. The scholarship amount will be given until the completion of their pursuing course. In case any student fails in their pursuing course they need to pay their expenses on their own.

Eligibility Criteria

• The student must be a permanent resident of Manipur.
• These scholarships will be awarded for all recognized “post matriculation for post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions.”
• Only candidates who have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognized university or board of secondary education will be eligible.
• The annual family income of students should not be more than Rs. 2.50,000.

Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship for SC Students in Manipur

The Post Matric Scholarship is introduced for Students from Scheduled Castes to promote them towards completing their Post Matric courses. Many students belong to the economically weaker section and cannot afford their educational expenses. Through these scholarships, the rate of dropout will be decreased. The students from Degree courses, Graduation or Post-graduation level are eligible to apply. Students will be allotted seats based on their pursuing courses. Under the initiative, any SC students with an annual salary of up to Rs 2.50 lakh would be eligible.

Eligibility Criteria

• The student must be a permanent resident of Manipur.
• Students must belong to a Scheduled Caste and be enrolled in higher educational courses under the Board of Higher Education or in a Recognised University of State.
•  The annual family income of students should not be more than Rs. 2.50,000.
• The age of candidates who are enrolled in specific courses will be decided by the institution.

Pm-Yasasvi Post Matric Scholarship for OBC Students Manipur

The Pm-Yasasvi Post Matric Scholarship has been introduced for Other Backward Class (OBCs), Economically Backward Class (EBC) and Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/S-NT). Through this scholarship students will be able to complete their higher education from Graduation to post-graduation level. Through this scholarship, economically weaker students will be able to complete their higher education in the State or outside it but within the country.

Eligibility Criteria

• The student must be a permanent resident of Manipur.
• Students must belong to Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and Denotified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/S-NT) and enrolled in higher educational courses under the Board of Higher Education or in a Recognised University of State.

Merits Scholarship Scheme for Class X And XII Manipur

The Merits Scholarship Scheme is introduced for the class 10th and 12th students to continue their education without financial crises. As we all know higher education is getting too expensive and an economically weaker student cannot afford it. To help these meritorious students the government will give financial assistance to the first 300 students who passed their 10th or 12th from the board of secondary education.

Eligibility Criteria

• If any candidate is involved in a full-time job then they are not eligible for this scholarship.
• Students should not receive any type of scholarship from any source.
• If any student passed their qualifying examination before the year of applying under the Merit Scholarship they are not eligible.

State Merit Scholarship Education-U – Manipur

The Directorate of University & Higher Education, Manipur has announced the implementation of State Merit Scholarship Education for the students of Manipur to offer them financial assistance. Through this scholarship, economically weaker students will be able to complete their higher education in the State or outside it but within the country. The students from graduation or post-graduation level will get a scholarship amount based on their pursuing course until the course completion.

Eligibility Criteria

• The student must be a permanent resident of Manipur.
• Students must enroll in higher educational courses under the Board of Higher Education or in a Recognised University of State.
• The annual family income of the candidate should not be more than Rs. 4.5 lakh.
• Students must pass 12th standard and now in UG or PG courses.
• Students must score at least 60% in their previous examination.
