This Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Scholarship is launched by the Department of Backwards Class Welfare, Telangana. All the students whose family income is less than 5,00,000\- per annum are eligible to get the benefit of this scholarship.

The objective of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Scholarship

The main aim of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Scholarship is to offer some financial assistance to the students of Telangana who belong to the backward class and economically backward category of society and aim to study abroad. Through this scholarship, students can continue their higher studies in the US, USA, Canada, or Australia. The selected students will receive an amount of financial help to continue their studies abroad. The selected student will get a high amount of Rs. 20,00,000 for their higher education. The students will get this huge amount in 2 equal installments. Talented students get encouraged and motivated to fulfill their studies from abroad.

Eligibility Criteria of Telangana Ts Mahatma Jyotiba Phule

The students must follow the given instructions to get selected under the scholarship scheme:

• The applying students must be permanent residents of Telangana.
• Students must belong to the backward class and economically backward category of the state.
• The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs. 5,00,000\-
• As of July 1st of the year, the maximum age allowed under the scheme cannot be greater than 35 years.
• At the time of choosing, the student’s exam scores from the prior year will also be taken into account. Students must have received at least 60% of the possible points in the exam from the previous year.
• He/she should have been accepted to a recognized international university.

Benefits of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Scholarship

The recipients of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Vidya Nidhi for BC and OBC students will get the following rewards:-

• The selected applicant of the scholarship will receive Rs. 20,00,000\- as financial assistance for completing their higher education.
• The amount of benefit will be distributed in 2 installments.
• Applicants will receive Rs. 10,00,000 in 1st installment and another Rs.10,00,000\- in 2nd installment.
• The recipients are allowed to increase their allotted allowances by working as research/teaching assistants and receiving the pay that comes with it.
• A 33% quota has been set aside for communities of girls in order to ensure equal participation for female students.
• Students who have received at least 60% on their final exam may apply online for this scholarship.
• The students will have the option of pursuing their education in a variety of fields, including humanities, social studies, engineering, nursing, and medicine.
• Up till this point, 571 students from the BC and EBC communities have been awarded scholarships.
• The student must be accepted to universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Singapore.

Selection Process Under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC Overseas

• The selection of the students for the scholarship will be done by the State Level Screening Committee based on the personnel details provided by the student.
• The government will appoint the following individuals to the committee:
  • Chairman- Special Chief Secretary/Prl. Secretary, BC Welfare
  • Secretary, State Council of Higher Education
  • Vice-Chancellor, JNTU
  • Commissioner, SCDD
  • Commissioner, Technical Education
  • Convenor/ Member- Commissioner, BC Welfare

Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Overseas Scholarship Apply Online

• On your screen, the scheme’s home page will appear.
• Here you must select the “Overseas Scholarship Services” option.
