About Vidyasiri Scholarship 2024

The Government of Karnataka has launched the Vidyasiri scholarship scheme. Through this scheme, scholarships will be provided to students belonging to economically backward classes. This scheme will be administered by the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of Karnataka. The Government of Karnataka is going to provide scholarships through an electronic payment and application system of scholarship which will help students to get their scholarships without any hassle. Through this scheme, students will be provided free hostel accommodation/fees for post-matric courses, Pratibha Puraskar scholarship for SSLC/secondary PUC, and full course fee concession for PMS FAAS, FC, and NUR. With the implementation of this scheme, students will be able to get scholarships which will help them in pursuing higher education.

Objective Of Vidyasiri Scholarship 2024

• The main objective of the Vidyasiri Scholarship Scheme is to provide scholarships to students belonging to the economically weaker section

Types Of Vidyasiri Scholarship 2024

Free hostel accommodation/Fee for post-matric courses

Through this scholarship scheme, the government will provide free hostel accommodation and fees for post-matriculation courses for students who have passed class 10th belonging to scheduled tribes, scheduled castes, other backward classes, and economically backward class categories

Pratibha Puraskar Scholarship for SSLC/PUC

the scholarship is provided to the student who has secured 90% or more marks in SSLC or secondary PUC examination and is from the scheduled tribe, scheduled caste, other backward category or economically backward class

Full course fee concession for PMS FAAS, FC, and NUR

through this scheme, full course fee concession is provided to those students who have at least 75% attendance and post-matriculation program and belong to a scheduled tribe, scheduled caste, other backward categories, or economically backward class

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka
• The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed Rs 2,50,000
• Students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) are eligible for the scholarship.
• Students who have passed 10th standard from Karnataka Board and are pursuing post-matriculation courses in government-aided, local, or non-aided institutions affiliated with Karnataka universities.

Eligibility Criteria Under Vidyasiri Scholarship

Eligibility for Free Hostel Accommodation

• The student must be a resident of Karnataka.
• The family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 per annum.
• The student should be enrolled in a Post-Matriculation or PUC II course in any college located outside the limits of their local body (municipality/corporation)
• The students belonging to SC/ST, OBC, BC, and PwD categories should obtain at least 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
• The students belonging to 2A, 3A, and 3B categories should obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility for Prathibha Puraskar

• The students should have a minimum of 90% marks in the SSLC or PUC exam.
• The students belonging to Category-1 (related SC/ST/OBC/OWD) should have a family income of less than INR 1,00,000 per annum.
• For students belonging to 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B categories, the family income limit is INR 2,50,000 per annum.
• Students must study in Higher education or Professional Courses approved by the Karnataka Government.
• This scholarship is available only once in a lifetime for each student.

Eligibility for Full Course Fee concession

• Students belonging to SC/ST BC, OBC, and differently-abled communities with more than 75% in the qualifying examination.
• Students belonging to SC/ST should have a family income of less than INR 2,00,000 per annum.
• Students belonging to SC/ST should have a family income of less than INR 1,00,000 per annum.

Selection Procedure Under Vidyasiri Scholarship

• Applicants are required to submit the online application form
• After the submission, the principal and inspection officer will confirm the application
• After confirmation verification will be done by the taluk officer
• After that, a committee will be formed to select the eligible students for this scholarship
• The selected student will be intimated through their registered mobile number
• Other than that they will also be able to check their name in the list of selected students on the official website

• On this page, you have to enter your Aadhaar number name gender, etc
• After that, you have to click on proceed

Reward Amount Under Scholarship Vidyasiri

• For Free Hostel Accommodation/Fee for Post-Matric Courses: Full course fee waiver + Free hostel accommodation expenses.
• For Prathiba Puraskar: INR 1,500 per month for 10 months (INR 15,000 per annum)
• For PMS-FAAS/FC/NUR: Full course fee waiver for the selected students.
