SHDF Scholarship 2024: Apply and Get Financial Aid for Higher Education

Previously we talked about multiple scholarship schemes and the amount of benefit they provided to economically weaker students. Today we came up with another scholarship known as SHDF Scholarship 2024. The SHDF scholarship was started by Nishkam Sikh Welfare, a reputed NGO in New Delhi. This scholarship is started in the areas of Punjab, New Delhi and NCR to offer financial assistance to children who are enrolled in degree professional courses. The selection of students will be done on the basis of examination and personnel interviews.

The students who qualify for the examination will only be eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship will help around 7000 students now. About SHDF Scholarship

The Sikh Human Development Foundation has started in partnership with Nishkam Sikh Welfare. The SHDF Scholarship will offer benefits, especially to the children who belong to the economically weaker section, children of widowed women, orphan kids, terminally sick parents, farmers’ children who committed suicide and agricultural labourers, Gurudwara sewadars and other economically disadvantaged families. The students who are genuinely eligible for this scholarship will get Rs. 33000 per annum for their studies.

• This foundation has already offered nearly 10,000 scholarships for economically weak students and more than half of it will be for women, in the last 20 years to fulfil the need of offering education.

The objective of the SHDF Scholarship

The main mission and vision of the SHDF Scholarship is to help needy and financially unstable students by offering them some financial assistance so they will be able to pay their school and college fees. As we know the fees of professional courses are quite expensive and not every student is that much capable of covering these educational expenses. Due to this many students dropped out of college. To overcome this problem the SHDF started this scholarship which mainly focuses on the students who belong to Punjab, Delhi and Some areas of NCR.

Eligibility Criteria for SHDF Scholarship

The applying students must fulfil the following criteria before applying for the scholarship:

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Punjab, Delhi and NCR.
• Candidates must be enrolled in professional degree courses, diploma courses or post-graduate courses from a recognized university\college.
• The annual family income of a candidate should not be more than 2,50,000\-.
• Applicants must obtain at least 60% marks in their previous examination before applying.

Selection Process

• The selection of students will be done based on a Written Examination.Test1- Elementary test in the

  • Test2- Religious and Moral studies
• Personal interview section ( Date, Time and Interview will be decided by the authority)

Applicants need to follow the given instructions for filling out the registration form:

• Applicants first need to visit the Official Nishkam Scholarship Website of the Sikh Human Development Foundation.
• The SHDF Scholarship official website homepage will appear on your screen. Here you have to click on the option which says “Downloads”.
• After that, a list of scholarships will appear on this page.
• You have to scroll down to click on the Option of Scholarship Application Form for New Case- 2023.
• Now the SHDF Scholarship Form will be downloaded on your device in Pdf format.
• Print out the application form for further use.
• Here you have to fill the following details:

• Class 10th mark sheet, Sr. secondary examination
• Fees receipt
• Death certificate
• DMC /Attested copies of Gazette of professional courses
• A photocopy of the passbook’s cover or a cancelled check
• Report from College Authorities properly signed (in the format required) by the Head of the College\Institute with the date and college stamp.
